In this Church we insist that EVERY person working with children has been checked and given disclosures according to the Baptist Union's `Safe to Grow` policy.

As part of our ongoing concern, on a Saturday in the New Year we are hosting a'Safeguarding Children' Training day
If you have not received any 'safeguarding children' training in the last three years then
THIS IS FOR YOU! People who work with children on our premises are particularly welcome
Have a word with Emelda Alghali if you wish to attend
                                                                     ________
Unfortunatly we have had a problem with the above training day due to illness.  However, we are now able to run, so WATCH THIS SPACE!   We are aiming to finalise a Saturday date in the near future.

Prayer Cafe in the Welcome Area.

What is a Prayer Cafe?   This is an opportunity to pray for our church, our friends and neighbours, our local community and anything else on our hearts.   Here is how it works for us.   Blank slips are placed in the pews for the congregation to write any prayer requests.   These are collected and placed in a box in the welcome area.   Then on the Saturday morning the welcome area is fitted out with several tables, each with three or four chairs.   The prayer box is opened, the slips divided  up and placed on the tables.   Now, between 10am and 12noon, people are free to come and go as they please; move from one table to another, or take a break for a drink and biscuit.   By common consent, people  pray in silence.   This works well for us - perhaps you would like to give it a try!
